Soft hearted people are not fools, they know what people did to them but they forgive again and again because they have beautiful hearts.
Allowing someone to do something to you over and over again is not being soft-hearted, it is being soft-headed. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself, but allowing someone to treat you poorly is definitely not. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
If you know God and put His words in your heart you can always forgive people what ever they did to you, and sometimes people change because of you.
So true, just because you are nice does not mean you do not know people who are not sincere!
Forgiveness is for YOU. Forgiving doesn't mean that you allow yourself to be hurt over and over again for the same reason by the same person as if it never happened; it means you keep your heart clean and pure by forgiving YOURSELF and learning the lesson associated with the transgression which allows you to peacefully move forward. Forgiveness makes YOU better, wiser and stronger - not the contrary.
That's so true it took a while for us to realise who was using us but we are more careful now and don't let it rattle us.
