One of the hardest lessons in life is letting go. Whether it’s guilt, anger, love, loss, etc. Change is never easy, you fight to hold on, and you fight to let go.
This thing is really hard to do. We know what to do but we just cant do it because we're still waiting for that loss to come back.
It really is different for everyone. it depends on the person's temperaments or personality. you're right. we live in present but function with memories . we're holding on to moments.
I think 'enjoying' feeling sad about loss is a wrong terminology. In order to have happiiness, there must be sadness and vice versa. I think a more correct terminology is to be present in the moment and let the feelings come when they come. Trying not to feel something creates tension and stress. When you allow yourself to feel, you begin to heal. I don't enjoy that process, but it has made me a stronger person. Not everyone lives in the present. Living in the present means to experience the sensations of the moment JUST AS IT IS. it takes effort to be in the present for some people.
It's easy to say but hard to do. Very hard to let go without knowing what went wrong. Wishing for a second chance to work things through that's what love makes you do. Time is the healer, so in time you will too.
